SWIM FOR SMITH SWIM MEET RESULTS.

Thank you to all who came out to participate in the 1st Annual Swim for Smith Swim Meet. Fun was had by all and over $1,000 was raised for the cause! 


BACKPACK FOOD DRIVE - The Fitness Department is sponsoring a Backpack Food Drive to collect items for the 40 Backpacks distributed weekly to children in need of food over the weekends.  Through the month of November we are asking members to bring in items to help with this outreach program. Aquatic Fitness

AQUATIC FITNESS CLASSES

COME ON IN ... THE WATER IS FINE!

Adults looking to challenge themselves without stress on their joints or members who just enjoy the water can take advantage of our different water exercise classes. Instructors lead small groups through water aerobics, core strengthening and much more. Gain muscle conditioning and cardiovascular endurance from the aerobic choreography and the resistance of the water. Ideal for all fitness levels & non-swimmers. Water Exercise classes are FREE for Y members!

VIEW OUR AQUATIC FITNESS SCHEDULE >>

AQUATIC CLASSES INCLUDE:  

ABC (Aquatic Body Conditioning):  45 minute cardiovascular workout in the shallow end of the warm pool.  Designed for all levels.

AQUA FLEX AND TONE: A warm water class involving broad movements of arms, legs, and torso.

aquaFIT: A shallow water workout in the warm pool.  Class will incorporate a variety of equipment designed to increase your heart rate and tone muscles.

BAT (Body Aquatic Toning):  45 minute class of light aerobic activity for beginners.  NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH SEVERE ARTHRITIS

INSTRUCTOR'S CHOICE:  A water fitness class of the instructor's choice. 

JOINTS IN MOTION: A low impact warm water workout.  Exercises are aimed at improving joint range of motion, reduce joint stiffiness and pain.  Great for beginners, participants with back pain, arthritis, or recovering from surgery.

WATER POWER HOUR:  A shallow water class in the cool pool.  Dumbells are used for toning.

WATER WAKE UP:  45 minute class of intense aerobic exercise in the deep water of the cool pool.  Flotation belts are used.
